How much does custom design work cost?

Most plans cost around $0.40 per heated square foot.

Do you have to build my custom designed home if I live locally?

No. Custom design work is done completely separate from home building.

How long does it take to get a full set of plans completed?

Most plans can be completed within 2 to 3 weeks.

How does the process work if I don’t live locally?

A.

First step is to make a 50% payment of the anticipated cost of the design. Then via phone, fax and internet links we can establish your needs and desires. A preliminary plan will be e-mailed to you for review. From there we make changes as needed until we achieve your dream home. Once the design is finalized the remaining payment is made and the construction documents are completed and mailed to you.

Why should you design my home?

Because of my experience as a builder, all of my homes are designed with ease of construction in mind. I can also design your home to help meet your budget.

What typically comes with the preliminary plan? Will I be able to see what the home is going to look like?

A.

Your preliminary package will look very similar in appearance to the plans on this site. You will be e-mailed two or three 3D elevations along with the floor plan(s). From these you will get a very good feel for how the finished product will look.

Q.

What do I get with a finished set of plans?

A.

Your plans will include the floor plan(s), foundation and electrical plans along with elevations, roof plan and wall section(s). All plans will be fully dimensioned and drawn to scale.
